From the Corners of the Earth:
Contemporary Photographs of the Jewish World

Photographs & Text by BILL ARON.
Introduction by CHAIM POTOK

It is with great pleasure that I announce a limited reissue of my book of photographs entitled, From the corners of the Earth. The book includes my portfolios, with commentary, of the Jewish communities in the former Soviet Union, Cuba, Jerusalem, New York's Lower East and Upper West Sides and Los Angeles.

Chaim Potok writes in his introduction:

"A visionary with a camera a recorder of the glimmers of light and shade of the hidden life... Aron uses his feelings to search for that obscured hidden life. In his hands a peripheral form, photography, seeks out the unseen – and becomes art. To experience the fruit of Bill Aron's lens is to sense both the link to the divine and the infinite loneliness that constitute the essence of man."

Dave Elliot, the art critic of the Chicago Sun Times, writes:

"From the bustling shops and synagogues of New York's Lower East Side to the dwindling yet strong Jewish community in Havana; from Jerusalem to Moscow; from the aging activist Jews of Venice, California to the youthful members of New York's Havurah movement; from the familiar to the strange, Bill Aron's photographs bring into vivid focus the complex human dimension of contemporary Judaism. In each instance, Aron's camera captures the inner meaning as well as the outer form. His images speak as much to the spirit as to the eye."

You may order the book directly from Bill Aron Photogapher @$40, plus California Sales Tax, per copy (discounts available for large orders). The cost of shipping is $10 for the first book and $3 for each additional one (sent to the same address).
